The Henry Williams Scholarship was established to support and empower graduating students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, character, and a commitment to community service. This scholarship honors the legacy of Henry Williams by investing in the next generation of leaders who are pursuing higher education and striving to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Each year, selected scholars are recognized not only for their academic achievements, but also for their resilience, integrity, and dedication to excellence.

Application Open: February 28, 2026

The 2026 Henry Williams Scholarship application will officially go live on February 28, 2026. Eligible students may begin submitting their completed applications starting on this date.
We encourage all prospective scholars to begin preparing required materials early, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and personal statements.

2026 Prospective Scholars –Full Application Deadline

Application Due By: April 30, 2026

All prospective scholars must complete and submit the full scholarship application, including all required supporting documents, by April 30, 2026.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. We strongly encourage applicants to review submission requirements carefully and apply early.

Henry Williams Scholarship Luncheon & Award Ceremony
Date: Saturday, June 14, 2026

We are honored to celebrate our 2026 Scholarship Recipients at the Henry Williams Scholarship Luncheon & Award Ceremony. This special event will take place immediately following the Scholarship Ceremony in the Bethel A.M.E. Fellowship Hall.

The luncheon is a time of celebration, recognition, and community fellowship as we publicly acknowledge the accomplishments of our scholars and the legacy of excellence this scholarship represents. Family, friends, supporters, and community members are invited to join us in honoring our award recipients.

AWARD CEREMONY WILL BE:

Date: Sunday, June 14, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Location: Bethel AME Church

Light refreshments will be served afterward in the Fellowship Hall.

About Our Scholarship Fund

Welcome to the Henry Williams Scholarship Program, where we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue higher education.

We offer scholarships to high school seniors in the San Diego County area who are on their way to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university or trade school.

Our mission is to empower students to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential through education.

Who Are Our Recipients?

The Henry Williams Scholarship awardees are San Diego County graduating seniors planning to attend a two or four year college or vocational school. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Financial need is considered in the selection process. New applicants are not eligible if already attending college. Students may apply each year until completion of the program in which they are enrolled.

The Henry Williams Scholarship does not discriminate and will consider all applicants submitting a
complete application and supporting documents.
